Validate collection of fields

Hi,

How can I validate a collection of fields, instead of validating the whole form?

I'm using asp.net which uses one form element, which I even don't use. I have a tab panel with on each tab a couple of fields. I only want to validate the fields on a tab.

are you asking in reference to having a plugin installed or a general question?

if it is in reference to validation plugin you can call validation on your whole form and check any field anywhere in your code with:

$(field_selector).valid() which will return true/false

Yes, I'm refering to the validation plugin. Thanks for your reply.

I was wondering if there was an easier way: let say that each field has an validationgroup attribute, then you only need to validate the group (can save code lines).

not really sure what your total goal is.

have you looked at groups option?
