Want a nice library other than jQuery only for Ajax

Hey guys just had a weird question , has any one of you ever used a stand alone JS Ajax library that ? something other than jQuery. I just want to know a good up to date library that i can use , it should be AJAX only and no other functionality.

Define "Ajax"?

jQuery has everything you need for Ajax. Do you mean more, like loading "pages" using Ajax (like jQuery Mobile?)

What website doesn't use jQuery?!

You only want the cross-platform Ajax functions? That's it? You CAN build a custom version, and leave out most, if you wish. Seems like a strange requirement.

Yes exactly that. Its for something personal not a project or something , i saw a few libraries only that were AJAX only , but i wanted to ask somee of you guys for the first hand experience you people have had.

Write your own. It’s only a few lines of code! The world has changed since jQuery was written to take care of all the crazy things the browser writers were handing out.
