Would fastdom help JQM's performance?

I noticed an announcement for https://github.com/wilsonpage/fastdom - and it sounded like something VERY interesting to optimize JQM's performance in cpu-constrained environments (older android phones, iPhone's non-safari engine, etc)

From the page:

Each read/write job is added to a corresponding read/write queue. The queues are emptied (reads, then writes) at the turn of the next frame using window.requestAnimationFrame

Anyone tried anything like this? Anyone have thoughts on why it might not be worth investigating?

I was hoping that there was a way to "sneak" it in to test to see if it is worth chasing.

before looking at integrating 3rd party logic, try pre-enhancing widgets vs. having JQM do it.

If JQM only creates objects on a widget and does not have to modify the DOM, things will go much quicker.

One would presume that jQuery Mobile itself is already optimized to do things in the most favorable order.

This might be useful for sloppy application code, however.

Pre-enhancing will be less useful in JQM 1.4, since it has greatly simplified much of the markup. (Buttons and listviews, in particular.) However, it does still have to enhance each page after loading. Just not nearly as much as in previous versions.

This might be useful for sloppy application code, however.

Like mine! :) But seriously, I do wonder if things like a filter box creating/destroying results from an auto-complete box, or dynamically inserted content within jqm pages, might benefit from this.

Only real performance hits I've run into are transitions/animations, and I know those are more finicky CSS related than DOM manipulation related, but still, it is appealing to think of all of the DOM manipulation being synchronized with the animation frame display rate.
