WP7 and swipe events

Do they really work?
I have developed a really simple test page with a single div with swipe events bound to it (tried both with bind and live) but nothing happens. If I simulate a swipe with the mouse in IE9/Firefox on my desktop computer the events trigger. I have also tried it on an Android device and they work, but not on my Omnia7 with WP7.5 (mango).
Has anyone got swiping to work with WP7?
