Can we please get a full list of Sortable "options"
As I have seen from my own experience with the new UI library, as well as seeing other people's posts, could we please see a list of "all" the possible options to use with the Sortables function? For example, 2 that I have seen in postings that are NOT in the docs are: smooth and handle What is the full list? Thanks, Bryan
Dialog - position: 'center' - Issue
When I create a dialog box using "position: 'center' " the box is placed in the vertical center of the html height instead of the center of the window height. The same problem does not occur on the examples page at: http://dev.jquery.com/view/trunk/plugins/ui/tests/dialog.html and I cannot find an appreciable difference. Is this a known problem? Perhaps a problem with my styles? Thanks in advance for your help. -R.A. Ray I am using core v. 1.2.1, UI v. 1.0 My code: $('#dialogBox').dialog( { resize:
jQuery Tabs Flash of Content
I just recently found jQuery and have been using it like mad on a pretty big project I've been a part of for about 2 years now. The tabs are awesome and that's the first piece that I'm implementing. However, I'm noticing a flash of content as the page loads that's really annoying. I'm using Tabs 3 and jQuery 1.2.1. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing it or what I might be able to do to fix it?

Problem with shadow in FireFox
Hi, I am new to JQuery. I am trying to apply the shadow for a division, it is working fine, but border of the division is not displaying and if Im trying to hide the division then it is taking a lot of time (around 10 seconds) to hide. I am facing these problems in FireFox only, it is working fine in IE. If you could suggest me anything that would rectify this problem, it would be very helpful. Thank you in advance. dimensions? draggable positioning is not proper with some css-layouts
hi, using draggables and droppables i build sortable containers. It works fine: http://www.wendenburg.de/sixt/test8.html Unfortunally I found out, that the absolute positioning of the draggable is not correct with some css-based layouts. E.g. i am working with pseudo-columns. The column-background is done by a border, the column-content moves over the border by a minus-margin. This causes that the draggable element jumps aside instead of moving with the mouse. However. dropping still works. Find
UI Tabs Effects Strange Problem
So this one has me scratching my head. I have a 2-part navigation on my site that uses the UI tabs to flip between set menu items and ones the user has defined. I thought I'd add a little flare and put a fade on the transition. Works beautifully, until I realized that when I'd flip to the user-defined items, all the text and links would be this weird faded color, but as soon as I rolled over the links, they'd return to their normal color. Same thing was happening with text. Removing the effect from
UI Tabs click and show callbacks not firing upon initialisation?
Whilst this may be a purposeful decision, I'm finding it annoying that when assigning a click and/or show callback when creating a new tabs instance, these callbacks are not fired when the plugin loads the first tab content. Personally, I think it should because: * You can put in code that needs to run everytime a tab is loaded. Otherwise, you have to repeat all that code initially, then let the callback handle it from that point on * If you are navigating to a specific tab from a named anchor in
droppable gets confused when height is modified
hi, i am working with sortable containers. These Containers should be closeable (slideUp). Bercause of the IE-Bug with interface.js (http:// dev.jquery.com/ticket/1806) i try to realize this with ui, using draggable and droppable. So far it works fine: my Containers are both: draggable and droppable objects. However, when i close the containers via slideUp the droppables get confused, it seems that they do not notice the modified height of a container that was closed. Find the working example here:
Sortable bug in internet explorer

Displaying current page in Navigation & SubNavigation
Hi, I have been using this article as a reference: http://leftlogic.com/lounge/articles/auto-selecting_navigation to keep my main navigation style changes visible with current page selections. I am now at the point where I need to have both the global nav and sub nav showing current states. Currently this is my code, $(function(){ var path = location.pathname.substring(1); $('#subNav a[@href$="' + path + '"]').addClass('on'); $('#globalNavList a[@href$="' + path + '"]').addClass('on');

Tablesorter feature patch (resort)
When adding a row to a table via JS or an ajax request, it is possible to trigger a re-sort on a particular field but not on whatever fields are currently selected by the user. See http://tablesorter.com/docs/example-ajax.html for what I am talking about. If, for example, you sort the table by last name and add data to the table, you must specify what sorting method you want, otherwise the data is added unsorted. I ran into this problem as I wanted to replace the entire contents of the table body
Sortables Demo for UI comparable to http://interface.eyecon.ro
Has anyone come across a decent demo using the UI version of Jquery that is comparable to the Demo using interface? http://interface.eyecon.ro/demos/sort.html I am currently using Interface as my means for accomplishing a nice Sortables system, and I know its not currently being developed or supported anymore...but I honestly have no clue what to change in my code even with the new UI version. Interface 1.2 vs UI
Ok, I like Interface a lot. The calls are easy, it has great eyecandy/ performance and seems to be relatively bug-free. Is it still being developed? Is UI headed in the same direction or what?
Accordion isn't triggering.

Make draggable again after drop
Imagine a photo album organisation tool. Therefore I have 3 divs: one with all photos (A) uploaded by a user, one for the album (B=droppable) and one trashcan (C=droppable). You can drag photos from A to B, or drag photos from B to C. Everything works fine. Dropping onto B adds a photo to the album, but... after dropping it's not draggable anymore, although it has the same class as the draggable from A. It has exactly the same properties. Is there some other step involved to make the dropped item
jQueryUI: so awesome, everybody wants a little "UI"
I don't know anything about this, but I thought it was worth pointing out. Looks like a protoype/scriptaculous UI library thing: http://www.prototype-ui.com/ The downloads and docs sections don't have much content yet... --Erik
Access Tablesorter Config externally
I'm trying to find a way of accessing the "sortList" (i.e. I want the array of which columns are sorted in which direction) of a tablesorter table. I have got around this issue by writing a quick widget which copies that array to a global javascript variable when the table is sorted. However, is it possible to access the array directly without having to duplicate this data to my global? It must be possible, but as yet I've worked out exactly how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Event binding memory leak
When a page is unloaded, jQuery is not unbinding any bound events causing a memory leak in IE6. Below is a very simple test page. If it is opened in IE6 you can see the memory usage skyrocket. <HTML> <HEAD> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery- latest.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function() { // Bind an onClick event to the body $("body").click(aFunction); // Reload the page window.location.reload();
Sortables Safari Bug
Hi, I am looking into JQuery UI for sortables, but unfortunately it doesn't work in Safari. I can click on list elements and move them around, but it will never update to their new position within the list (e.g., the list item will go right back to where it started). I just wanted to report this and possibly get a fix for it :) Really, it's a compatibility issue, I think... Thanks Ian M

Bug in Droppable
Hi, The droppable doesn't work as spected. The droppable doesn't get selected when you mouse over with the draggable, but if you place the draggable a few pixels to the top, it works. Here is a simple test case: <script language='javascript' src='jquery-1.2.1.js'></script> <script language='javascript' src='jquery-ui.min.js'></script> <style type="text/css" media="screen"> .droppable-inactive { opacity: 0.7; } .droppable-hover { outline:

Shadow not working
What is the status of the ui.shadow plugin? I've tried using it and ran into 3 problems right away. 1. There is no way to remove a shadow. Documentation mentions shadowDestroy() method but it's nowhere to be found in the code. Is it simply not implemented? 2. Move is not working consistently in FF (shadow is sometimes misaligned a bit to the left or right, seems like it misses some mouse move events and ends up trailing the real DIV that's moved) and not working at all in IE 3. Shadow is giving a
Links not working in content loaded with ajax tab
Aloha All, I'm using ui tabs to load content via ajax. The content loads fine, however links in the first tab content works while the same links in the second tab content doesn't. On this page http://itr.gts.tsu.biz/projects/ clicking on the "Commercial Projects" tab loads a page via ajax however the links in the "More Info" section doesn't work. Another oddity is that the link to "Residential Projects Gallery »" only works if you click on the first part of the link (Reside). This seems to be a browser
Tabs + Slider Firefox(+?) Bug
Only tested this briefly in Firefox 2.0.0.8 as I've been familiarizing myself with jQuery and jQuery UI. It appears that when you have a slider widget inside a tab container, the blessing of an element as a slider must happen BEFORE the blessing of the tabs, or else the slider will render but will not be able to be manipulated. Perhaps this is a bug with the additional markup added to the ul, li, and divs when creating a tabs object. Also, I've only tried this where the slider is the first element

Selector for Toggled Element
I'm trying to write an if statement based on the toggled state of an element (a table, in this case). Attempting to select the table by any combination of id, class, and/or element type doesn't work. Using Firefox, I can see that the table is toggled between display:table and display:hidden. The selector that jQuery appears do be using is element.style. This selector is apparently built on-the-fly, as it's not one of mine. I thought 'aha, select it by using $("element.style")!' This didn't work.
ui.sortable & a HTML select in IE7
Hi all, I've written some test code using ui.sortable and a HTML select form element. All works fine in FF and IE6 but I'm hitting an issue in IE7. The issue is this; if you try to select an option from the select statement in IE7, the select doesn't change! If you bypass the sortable initialising code (e.g. $(document).ready(function(){ $("#myList").sortable({ "start": function(e,ui){ //console.log("start!"); }, "stop": function(e,ui){

IE + Safari suddenly not having my NestedSortables
Last night I had full browser support for my NestedSortables list. I checked it today and only Firefox responds properly. IE and Safari don't even do any jQuery at all. I set up a test page with only a list, the required includes and the required NestedSortables javascript to make the sortable list work, and I get the same problem, so it's nothing to do with the rest of the code in the app I'm working on. UI 1.1 Beta Period?
</start-soapbox> I would like to repeat an earlier suggestion that UI 1.1 be taken through a formal Beta program. Even an alpha if necessary (though perhaps grabbing from the trunk will suffice as alpha). Many of us are too busy to grab from the trunk until we have some signal that the code is "worth testing" - That is the purpose of a Beta, and it is good practice. Beta says "Hey, Development thinks this code is pretty good, and our test cases pass, but we know it's software and software always
Tabs - How to stop layout redraw
I am using the UI tabs (really nice and very easy!) using the documentation examples as a starting point. One thing I noticed though is if the page is a little slow to load (loading images in the various tab divs) then the user sees the list items as a list for a second and then the page shows the tabs. Is there anyway to not have the list show as a list before being displayed as tabs? Thanks, David
