• PowerPoint Presentation in JQuery Mobile

Got a PowerPoint presentation in a regular webpage: http://gmjones.org/accountantsinadr_hmrc.php I can convert each of the slides into image files or pdf files easily. How do I set up an equivalent presentation in JQuery Mobile?
  • Support of Non-English Numbers - Validation Plugin

Heyoo. The jQuery Validation Plugin works great fur numbers written like: 123,456,789.00 but here where I live, we write the numbers like: 123.456.789,00 so the validation fails. Here's my suggestion for an improved regex which validates both variations /^-?(?:\d*(?:(?:,|\.)\d+)?|\d{1,3}(?:(?:\.\d{3})+(?:,\d+)?|(?:,\d{3})+(?:\.\d+)?))$/ Please apply this change. cu Mr.Yeah
  • Dynamic progress loading instead of differed

I was assuming to create a function to register with only one site. Capable of monitoring the AJAX requests either using $.ajax, $.post, XMLHTTPRequest, AjaxObject etc... when URI call starts/complete single or stack, capable to executes a callback function. No matter if progress functions are defined or not. Thanks, Smoke
  • autoCollapse option for Accordion

This is also kind of a discussion and I fully expect that there will need to be some corrections to this idea, and also I started trying to tinker with accordion to create this feature but I figured it would be best to get input from those who know UI best as far as what kinds of changes would need to take place. The main idea with autoCollapse is a flag for whether or not already active panels are collapsed upon the activation of a new one. In the old docs for 1.8 it was reported that implementing
  • Please create the ability to have stationary DIV's that look like Dialog boxes with title bar and minimize button.

Please create the ability to have stationary DIV's that look like Dialog boxes with title bar and minimize button. That way everything will look the same theme wise without a lot of code. I of course am able to simulate the look of my DIV's with the rounded corners and the title bar with a minimize button. But thats a lot of DIV's and CSS and code. Thanks. Instead of "dialog' you could call it 'divbox' or something like that. Thanks.
  • .val() on <select multiple> when no options are selected

When .val() is used on a <select multiple> element, it returns an array of all the selected options. However, if no elements are selected, it returns null. It seems more appropriate for it to return an empty array, so that the limiting case is not treated specially.

  • Fix jQuery.ajax() errors in IE

Hi all, I thought it might be worth spreading the word about the solution of a strange problem in IE: All my jQuery.ajax() requests were kind of ignored in IE and didn't return any data. After debugging them I got a "parseerror" and a strange "Error c00ce56e" in my IE. This error code is related to an encoding error if using the UTF-8 charset. If you got a similar problem with your AJAX requests not returning any data, try out the following code to see if you also get the c00ce56e error code: $(document).ready(function()
  • ThemeRoller and LESS framework

Greetings! Have you any plans to use the LESS framework in ThemeRoller engine? I think it's better to use an explicit variables (for colors, font face etc.) instead of magic and error prone regexp substitution.
  • Jackbone, a Framework to use Backbone.js with jQueryMobile

Hi, There is a bunch of solutions to integrate JQM with Backbone, most in the form of demo applications. But instead of having a bunch of people having to maintain their own copy of this code, I found it would be interesting to provide that as an external library. Jackbone is aiming to make JQM + Backbone multipages client applications painless. Main features include: a JQM-specialized View class a Router class a ViewManager that keeps rendered Views alive for a few minutes an optional Controller
  • [autocomplete] add option to allow HTML in label

I spend the last two days changing all 4 different types of fancy list controls and autocomplete functions we use to jQuery UI's autocomplete! I love that there is 1 out of the box solution for so many different situations! The main thing I've been missing is an option that allows me to format the label used by the widget. I have read that I can override the renderitem method, but this seems like a very very complicated solution to a very simple problem. The render item function currently is:

  • Switch back to the old documentation for Jquery Mobile

Have you considered switching back to the old documentation style? I think I by now have done quite a lot with JQM - Fully functioning Web Apps, Trigger. io and Phonegap apps with REST driven backends, responsive displays, Google maps and  Facebook integration - but - I would never have gotten this far with the new documentation. It is simply to piecemeal, unguiding, unforgiving.  Don't get me wrong - you guys have done a heck of a job - really! But I simply cannot abide by the new piecemeal documentation
  • Search field for tables

I would be very pleased if you add the same search widget of listviews for table widget. I'm providing the user extense table data in my app and they are asking me for that search box I have in listviews. Is it in your plans to build something similar? Thanks!
  • feature request: debounced resize event

People designing responsive sites drag their windows wide and narrow like mad accordionists! But Doing this without debouncing the resize event can causes chaos in the console. So I use a debounced resize event on almost every single page I ever design. Louis Remi's longstanding solution: https://github.com/louisremi/jquery-smartresize is a good candidate for canonization into core, in my humble opinion, possibly streamlined slightly. It's not a "plug-in" really, it's a abstraction to resolve a persistent

  • AutoComplete Sub-Menu, Navigation, and Other Suggestions

Hi all,   I am using AutoComplete from 1.10. I noticed that the AutoComplete does use the menu widget for its results, which is great, but it wasnt very intuitive to figure out how to get sub-menus to happen there. I did eventually figure that out though.   My real issue is with navigation. Even though AutoComplete uses Menu, and Menu supports expanding and collapsing of sub-menus using arrow navigation, the menu that is the AutoComplete results does not support this. It appears to be the case that
  • Relative Font sizes in CSS

Unless there's some new CSS3 feature I am unaware of, I find the font-size's being pixel based a bad thing. While using JQueryMobile with Cordova or PhoneGap, devices with high density screens have all the UI elements a little to small to interact with.  I went to adjust them using @media styles for DPI -- but was saddened to see that all 25+ font-size styles were in PX and could not be affected by adjusting the BODY's font size. I thought that even with browser's support for "zooming" it was still

  • An advanced selector request $.level()

I was thinking on a tool that would make people's life easier by making a recursive search of elements and give us the deepest level when plainly used.     Level 0     <div id="test">         Level 1         <div>             Level 2             <div class="third">                 Level 3                 <div>                     Level 4                 </div>             </div>         </div>     </div> It should return level count when no index is given;     $("#test").level(); // Which should

I got a request to create a popup that opens directly above the button that was clicked to open it: but currently the only options avaliable center the popup over an item.  I'd like the ability to choose other locations, such as 'above' 'below' 'right' 'left' Thanks!
  • Please add an "autocompleteblur" event

I can use "autocompletefocus" to do something. But when focus is moved to the menu top or bottom, no item gets the focus, the event will not be triggered. So I expect jQuery UI to add an "autocompleteblur" event.

  • Feature request: Large modal dialog inside a small modal dialog

If I open a small modal dialog and in this dialog I open another large modal dialog, then this second large modal dialog is displayed inside the first small dialog. It doesn't look very nice, as scroll bars appear. How to make second modal dialog to look "detached" from the first dialog? So that if it is higher or wider than a parent dialog, it still would be displayed full size, not inside parent dialog. Dialog has option appendTo, but if I attach second dialog to top.document, then it doesn't work
  • .position() against two targets

    I want to position an item relative to two elements, using 'top' from one element and 'right' from a different one. I thought I would try callig position() twice, one for the vertical position and again for the horizontal. Unfortunately, as anyone who actually reads the documentation knows, if you specify only one value in 'my', the other is added for you. What I tried was this: $("#page_tools").position({ my: "left", at: "right+2 ", of: "#layout_wrapper" }).position({ my: "top", at: "top-40", of: "#page_content" });
  • Logout icon for the JQuery Mobile project

I downloaded and modified the 4 image sprites that hold the icons for the JQuery Mobile project to include a logout icon, attached to this post. To use them the way the other icons are used you need to add these to your css. Note: there are 4 files but it would only let me upload three - see the first comment below for the 18-black file. (The black files are the same as the white ones with their colors inverted. To make the 18 pixel version of the file, you cannot just shrink the whole 36 pixel file,
  • data-position bottom for panels

I am using the panel widget in the web app I am developing. http://api.jquerymobile.com/panel/ I look forward to when these can be used outside of the page structure (so that I can include the panel once (it is used for navigation of my app) in a multipage app). However, I would like to make use of other panels and it would be great if I could animate these in using the overlay from the bottom of the page - much like a modal view controller in iOS development. I think this would be great for quick
  • feature req: .until()

I was wondering if it's feasible to add an "until()" method that is identical to the existing "prevUntil" and "nextUntil", except it will determine the direction to traverse for you based on the index of the supplied parameter.  I realize this may get a little complicated when passing a jquery object or selector that has multiple matches, in which case I'd imagine it would use the first result.  Furthermore, an "untilAfter()" that the same as the proposed "until()" but also includes the parameter
  • dragging a group of items, alsoDrag (like alsoResize)

I hacked together this functionality (meemoo.org/iframework) to drag multiple items together. It would be nicer if this were built-in, and worked like alsoResize. Then you just could do: $(selector).draggable(   alsoDrag: "ui-selected" ) to drag a group of selected selectables. Has anybody implemented something like alsoDrag?
  • Pages not loading in Android 4.0.4 browsers / jQuery 1.8.2

Hi, I just want to share this. I just migrated to 1.3.0 and found out that some of my pages is not loading in Android 4.0.4 all browsers (default browser, google chrome and firefox). It's working fine in Android 2.3.6. I don't have any idea about the problem but using the latest version of jQuery (1.9.1) fixed the problem. Thanks everyone for the great work!
  • reduce left and right margins in popup dialogs

If you make use of a data-role="header" within popups, the popup heading will be abbreviated if it exceeds 40% of the available width (because the left an right margins default to 30%). Eg., this happens in the "Delete Page..."-dialog example - small screen widths will abbreviate the title, even if there is still enough space to the left and right: http://view.jquerymobile.com/1.3.0/docs/widgets/popup/ One solution would be to reduce the margin of h1-Tags in this case: http://jsfiddle.net/jT7k9/5/
  • Extend datepicker to fill calendar with pre-existing dates and highlight them....

Hi, what I would want to have is a functionality, where I can define certain groups, assigning them a specific colour, then, in a second step, assign certain dates and names into those groups. If the calendar shows such a date, it should be marked by the colour provided for it's group and show the name as a tool tip on mouse hover. If a date appears multiple times, each name should appear in the tool tip in a new line. And maybe there should be a hardcoded background-colour implying "multiple", if
  • Animation feature

Hello all, As we all know...human eye can see only 24 frames per second. But when i create some animation with jquery, i see that in one second are executed around 64 steps...could this number be editable? or to add a new config parameter to change it? in most of cases i think it is useless to execute more than 24 callbacks/animations per second. Here is an example http://jsfiddle.net/KfwMa/ This configuration will get a big role if website will execute a lot of animations on the same time...This

FYI, I was looking at the "all forums" page and noticed that the jQM forums (2 total) show the standard jQuery icon/logo. Thought it would be a good idea to switch those to the jQM icon, since jQuery UI and QUnit have their own. Just an idea.
  • Online tools for extracting only required modules from core jQuery

Hi Team! I gone through the process of extracting the required modules from core jQuery. But found difficult to use it. Can we have (1): an online tool where all the modules from core jQuery listed at one place each modules will have checkbox next to it after selecting some modules, user will be able to export those modules WITH their dependent functions so that user will visually get ONLY required modules in minified form Or can we have (2): an online tool where all the modules from core jQuery
  • JQM 1.3 Panels - data-init="open"?

Hi, In the JQM 1.3rc1 documentation I read that opening a panel automatically is done by callign the method open(). While this is straight forward enough, I would like to suggest a property like data-init which would take 'open' and 'close' (default). I really like the simplicity of the 'data-'-properties used elsewhere. RC1 is out there, but maybe better late than never... Thnx! Jasper
  • Input type=search and numeric pad

Hi, i need to implement a search input where user type only digits (search items in a list that contain only numbers). If i write: <input type="search" id="searchBox" name="searchBox" /> it is rendered like a input text (it's a input with type=text) with a search icon and, when it's present data, a cancel button. But, in a mobile device, when user focus to search box must be appear native numeric keypad. It's possible to add a data property like data-search-type with values (freetext, text, url,
  • Proposed addition to slider: auto-adjusting

Hi, in my app I'm using sliders to enter a number. The number can be arbitrarily large (addition: but greater than zero), even if *usually* it is within a certain range, so with a slider I have the problem that it requires a "max" value. Conventional inputs just look awful, though, and are harder to use. So it would be neat if the slider, if wanted, adjusts its own range upon selecting either the min or max value. I implemented it using the slidestop event, but maybe I'm not the only one who'd like

The jQuery Project is very excited to announce the jQuery Conference 2010: Boston on October 16-17, 2010.  The conference will be held at the Hilton Boston Logan in Boston, Massachusetts.  The best part of this announcement is that Tickets are on sale now!  This venue is the largest that the project has worked with to date (Harvard Law School in ‘07, the MIT Stata Center in ‘08 and Microsoft New England Research Center in ‘09) and we expect to sell out very quickly.
