Trying to streamline image gallery data input
in my little homemade picture gallery i find it difficult to accurately put the information about each picture into the correct place in the HTML doc. each image is contained within a div, and i have dozens of them. each picture has data associated with it (title, finename, item #, caption, availability and cost), and each item has to go in the right place in the div. and i go bug-eyed trying to keep track of where i am while scrolling around. it would be nice if i could set up a table or an array
ui menu: how to use focus method
I'm trying to use the ui-menu focus() method to set focus on a specific menu item on page load. How to refresh just one side of the page
See http://myownmealplanner.com/mealplans/add/5 for the example If you drag a meal tile to the right side of the page then it should stay there after you click on <a href="/mealplans/add">Go back to list of meal tiles</a> but of course it doesn't because the entire page gets refreshed. I tried adding an anchor for just the mealplan tiles (like a back to top button) but still the entire page gets refreshed. I can't think of any way to do this with jquery, javascript or php. Grid doesn't work in dialog

Hi Everyone, This is my first post on forum.jquery. I know this is the best place to discuss and start. Recently I have been assigned a project in which I require a Grid with the following function. 1. It should be selectable 2. It's background gets changed automatically (on the basis of database values) 3. How to pass mouse events to an iframe
I am needing to use jQuery UI in a child iframe of my host page. My issue is that drag operations work poorly if the users mouse travels outside the child iframe and into the parent. If this happens the mousemove events or mouseup event are no longer sent to the UI control. I have solved this with my own GUI functions by simply having the parent pass these events to the child for processing but with jQuery UI I do not know how to pass these events through properly. Where/What is _refresh()
Actually this is a Problem for me. I need to control values in a Spinner. I created a table, populated it with <input> and converted the inputs to spinners. I also set min and max values. So far, so good. When one clicks the Up & Down icons, everything works just fine. When there is keyboard input things start to fall apart. The Max value does nothing, I am also using a step size of 5. I get the value and subtract the mod 5 (% 5) value then put it back, it doesn't go back. Both clamping to max and

image drop down -> select -> new image appears with additional text drop downs
i'm in the process of creating my photography website, and i want the option to have an image drop down, which i've seen many of, but once an image is selected, i want a large image to appear in the middle of the page, and drop down options to appear next to it so a customer can order a print. my question is, is there a simple modification i can make to an existing jquery image drop down, or is this an entirely new thing? this has most likely been made, so a link would be appreciated to the code
jquery gallery image replacement question
perhaps i should be in the beginners section, i am not sure. i'm making some progress with jq, and have set up a little image gallery. i have thumbnails on the left, and when one is picked, a larger image of it appears at the right. i am using show and hide divs, and with 1 exception it works fine. i have set up the code so that when a new thumb is picked, the old large image fades out (hide slow) while the new large image fades in (show slow). it is neat simultaneous effect. the only problem is

Dialog position will not move
I'm trying to change the position of the dialog when it displays. This is my code: $(function(){$( "#Untimely" ).dialog({ position: { my: "right top", at: "center", of: "#Input" } });}); I've changed the position to { my: "center", at: "center", of: window } but nothing moves it. The dialog only stays at the top left of the window. The only time it has moved is { my: "right", at: "center", of: window } and it moves right off the page. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello friends, I'm creating a mobile multi-page with dynamic content. When the page is loaded, the groups (blue collapsibles in below picture) are loaded from a database with an ajax-request. Then when a collapsible is clicked and expanded, the content of that specific group is loaded with ajax-request. And when the X-button is pressed, that list item is deleted with an ajax-request + remove(). The problem I'm facing is that remove() and hide() only work with the items in the first collapsible-group

Well I understand the preventdefault meaning. Its work is to prevent the default action of the event. But I could not understand what stoppropagation does? The documentation of stoppropagation uses the word bubble up. What does it mean?
Is this expected behaviour in append?
I think it is expected, but post here just in case... I am getting an error when using append. If I am appending data with an ampersand it errors. However, it doesn't do this all the time. The error is on line 6325 of jquery.js, when the data is passed to innerHTML. If the mimetype of the page is text/html, the data is xml escaped automatically. If the mimetype is application/xhtml+xml, it doesn't and gives an error. I have some sample code below. Unfortunately it doesn't give an error in the console
