Ajax request to autocomplete an input field
Hello all, first sorry for my english. I need help to make my ajax autocomplete zip code input field working properly. The input has a maxlength attribute equal to 5. I use the ".post()" function to send the ajax request when the length of the input field reaches 5 caracters. So far everything is working, the user enters a zip code and get all the cities back in a div from where he can choose his city. But I've noticed in the Firebug plugin that when the user enters more than 5 caracters my function
jQuery1.7.2 Selected pulldown menu option value triggers link containing same rel (or name) value?
I am trying to trigger a link that has same rel or name value of selected option value of a pulldown menu, is the following code capable of doing thist? var s = $("this option:selected").val(); $("a.track[rel='s']").trigger("click"); Basically you select an item from the pulldown menu and a matching link gets clicked. Draggable Div resets to original vertical position after draggable is disabled.
Hi, I have a div that I've enable draggablitiy on within an html body. In IE9 when I drag the div outside the initial bounderies of the html body ( causing an increase in scoll), and then disable the drag option, the div jumps vertically to its original position.This does not happen in firerfox or safari. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Smartphone performance
My JQuery Mobile web app is about 56K. I can still take out about 10K in comments and even minimize it further but I would like to leave it in a human-readable form (for my students :). In addition to the 56K of course I include the files: jquery.mobile-1.1.0.min.css, jquery-1.7.1.min.js, jquery.mobile-1.1.0.min.js modernizr-latest.js Will I get acceptable performance on modern smartphones??
Embedded Link in a label for a checkbox input -- Link doesn't work
I want to embed a link in a label for a checkbox input, for instance <li> <input class="custom" tabindex="950" id="agree_pre_terms" type=checkbox name="agree_pre_terms" value="1"> <label for="agree_pre_terms">I agree to the <a href="#terms">Terms and Conditions</a></label> </li> But, clicking the link simply Toggles the input state. Seems this would be a common & tidy way. However, clicking the Terms and Conditions text just toggles the Label. Is there a workaround for this issue ?
[jQuery] blockUI leaves hourglass on IE8

Multi directional scrolling
I'm trying to cobble together a way of scrolling to various divs using jquery scrollTo plugin. I have script for diagonal, horizontal and vertical, but how would I get them to work together? My intention is to have four areas, with different layouts in each. The problem I'm having is getting the navigation to go left, it only seems to work properly if it goes horizontal -right, vertical or diagonal- right. Hi people, I was wondering if you can help me with a small challange. the JQuery works in FF, GC and O, but does noting in IE
I've made up a slider and it works in Chrome, Firefox and Opera just as planned. But IE doesn't play like planned. It does follow the sequence, I've checked with the console, but noting happens. The main idea is that I've made up three slides wich show the content after a row of panels dissapear. jQuery countdown two significant digits in compact view
In the countdown plugin, when I display the compact countdown with two significant digits it shows something like: "2d 12:00:00" and minutes/seconds stay at "00" forever. How can I get it to display something like: "2d 12h" instead? Help with loading images for a very simple image gallery
I'm struggling for ideas of how to create my image gallery, more specifically, how to load a full size image once a thumbnail is pressed. What I want is obviously when a thumbnail is pressed, jQuery will use AJAX to load the image from the server, and put it into a separate div for displaying. Inside timout function .is selector isnt working
Hi. After placing my code inside a timeout function, the script is not recognising the .is selector. I need one part of the code to be rendered if the item has the class .grid_1 or .grid_2, if not use the other code. This worked fine before placing it inside the timeout function. jQuery.data caching of 'data-*' attributes
I could be off-base here, but from what I've gathered looking at jQuery's data method, I am very surprised with how it caches data attributes. Best way to handle session timeout on ajax call
I am testing my mobile website and I noticed that when an ajax call is made it just shows a text message "Error Loading Page". I see that you can override the pageloadfailed method. This seems like the best place to handle it. My question is does anyone have a piece of code for the pageloadfailed that handles the following: hide the loading icon. check the xhr object to see what type of failure it was. Tabs in IE cascade and show bullets
I know there has been a lot of problems with tabs in IE, but I can't seem to find a fix based on what I've searched on. It obviously works fine in other browsers, but in IE the tabs cascade down instead of displaying side by side and the bullets are shown to the right in a jumbled up fashion. Using ajax history with ajaxEnabled: false
Hello, I have ajaxEnable: false (IT architect decision) but one part of my app uses ajax to load the pages because we're using a web service for this one feature. When I hit the browser back button after navigating within the ajax section, it takes me to the previous fully loaded page and not the ajax loaded page I was last on. Make sense? Find URL and check segments
Hi. I am trying to get jQuery to find the current URL, and then use conditions to load a different variable depending on it. For instance, if the first segment after the URL is empty, show this... if the first URL is equal to then show this. www.domain.com/segment_1/segment_2 etc. I have managed to get this to partically work using the following. Can somebody show example how to send via AJAX DELETE HTTP method instead of POST, like this: $.post( '/filial/del/', {city:$.trim(city)} ); but DELETE. I tried: $.ajax( {url:'/filial/del/', type:'DELETE', data:'city='+encodeURI($.trim(city))} ); and: $.ajax( {url:'/filial/del/', dataType:'json', type:'DELETE', data: {'city':$.trim(city)}} ); but in django vie see that no any 'city' in POST or GET! Shadow clipping
I'm trying to squash some text shadow clipping. I have a script that separates each letter (Lettering plugin) to split up each letter and then using hoverwords plugin along with jQuery Easing to do the animation. At the end of js you can see my attempt at shadow clipping. Right now an example problem letter is the 't' after you mouseover the first word and then mouseout and then the first word will come back and you will see the 't' shadow clipped. Here's a jsfiddle so you can see it in action.
Server problem
Problem,,, I have my web pages on a server, thats all singing & dancing, they are not up on the 'WEB' as am testing them.Uploaded by DW. Anyway am editing the css file of my php contact form, I save file in DW, I up load to the server, I preview in all the browers i have,,, and there is not change to the layout of the form. The Css file has changed on the server, And in design code layout in DW you see the change to the form. How do you stop this sort of cache'ing' in these browers,or that

Popup Overlay Slide from Left?
Is there a simple way of having the Popup overlay slide in from the left instead of right? I changed the popup panel css to this: right: auto !important; left: 0 !important; The panel is now on the left (which I want) but it slides in from the right and travels all the way across the viewport to get there. I'm probably overlooking something. Thanks for any ideas.
Problem with event firing

jquery $.ajax() issues and concerns
Hi, I am using this $.ajax() to the data from webservice(.asmx) . webservice sends me data in html format enclosed as strings.I am just appending the received conten to table.It also contain image tags containing images. When i browse this page in chrome. Sometime these images are not loading one by one. Its gets loaded once all page async calls have done. When i browse this page in IE. Browse gets freeze can't do other process. this is happening even though i have set async: true during ajax call.
